Small crystalline blocks that sit flat on a step, a path edge or a paver and light from within, so the effect at night is closer to a set jewel than a lamp. Imitation crystal glass over an ABS housing gives the cube its facets, and the light refracting through those faces is what stops it reading as a plain plastic marker once the sun goes down.
There is no wiring at all. A solar panel on the top face charges through roughly twelve hours of daylight and the light comes on by itself at dusk, running up to twelve hours through the night. That means no cable runs across a lawn, no transformer to house and no trench to dig, and it also means the lights can be repositioned whenever the planting or the layout changes.
Four colours are available, warm white, pure white, blue and green, and they can be mixed across a run. The 2V supply is low voltage and the IP65 rating covers rain and dust, so they can stay out through the seasons. Sets run from four up to thirty, which is the realistic range for edging a path, marking a flight of garden steps or outlining a patio. Place them where they will not be stepped on directly.
