A plain black rectangle in die cast aluminium with a PC lens, offered with or without a motion sensor. The sensor version switches on as someone approaches and holds for ten to thirty seconds after they leave, which is the useful pattern at a door or a garage side wall, light exactly when it is needed and darkness the rest of the night.
Choosing the non sensor version is worth considering where the light is architectural rather than functional, on a wall that should simply be lit all evening. Both versions share the same body, so a mix of the two along one elevation still looks consistent, sensor units at the doors and fixed units along the blank sections between them.
Rated IP65 for full waterproofing and dust protection, the body is built for genuinely exposed positions rather than sheltered porches only. Two sizes are available, 4.3 by 10.2 inch and 5.1 by 15 inch, and both warm white and cool white are offered. It suits doorways, garden entrances, garage walls, side passages and boundary walls, anywhere the combination of automatic light and a low profile fitting is wanted. Mount it high enough that the sensor covers the approach rather than the ground directly beneath it.
