Rated IP65, which is the practical threshold for putting a recessed light where there is steam or splashing. That covers a shower ceiling, above a bath, a kitchen over the hob, a utility room, or a covered porch. The same seal that keeps water out keeps dust out, so the lens does not gradually fog from the inside the way unsealed fittings do.
The source is COB rather than a cluster of separate diodes, which gives a single continuous emitting surface and, in turn, a cleaner beam edge and better colour rendering. Objects under it hold their actual colour, which is worth having in a bathroom where you are looking at your own face, or a kitchen where you are looking at food.
Two wattages are available, 5W and 10W, so the fitting can be matched to the ceiling height and the spacing rather than over lighting a small room. White and black bezels are both offered, and warm white and cool white are both available. A deep set, glare free design keeps the source out of direct view, and the heat dissipation structure is built up to keep long running temperatures down, which is what protects the seal and the diode over years of daily use in a humid room.
