The Solar Globe Lawn Light from Covara Home is a moulded PE sphere that glows from within, sitting directly on grass, gravel or planting. There is no stake, no cable and no switch: it charges through the day and lights itself at dusk, which makes it the least demanding outdoor light in the range to own.
Five designs are offered and they differ in more than size, running from a low wide dome through to a taller upright form. Grouping three or five in odd numbers across a lawn or bed reads better than a single unit, and the varying heights are what stop a cluster looking repetitive.
Output is modest by design. This is ambient and decorative light, not path lighting to walk safely by, and it should not be relied on to illuminate steps or changes in level. PE handles frost, rain and UV without yellowing quickly. Each unit needs several hours of direct sun to charge fully, so a position under dense planting or deep shade will underperform.
