Rue is a round glass dome set into electroplated copper, offered two ways from the same shade. As a flush mount it sits 7.09 inches deep against the ceiling; as a pendant it hangs at 12.60 inches. Both are 10.63 inches across, so a low ceiling and an open stairwell can carry the identical retro light, and a hallway can use flush versions while the landing above takes the pendant.
The copper is what gives it its mid century character. Light passes through the solid colour glass, in a warm orange or a clean white, and picks up warmth from the metal around it on the way out, which is a different quality from a plain white dome of the same size. Orange casts a glowing amber tone that suits a vintage or eclectic room; white keeps the light bright and neutral while the copper does the styling.
At 10.63 inches across it reads as deliberate over a hallway, a bedroom, a kitchen nook or a small landing without claiming the whole ceiling. The ceiling plate is 4.72 inches, which covers a standard 4 inch junction box neatly. It takes a standard E26 bulb, not included, and a warm LED brings out the copper best.
